The sun is still shining in colorful Colorado, and sunglasses are still on our minds. Last time I talked a little bit about plastic and metal frames, but I want to go into a little more depth. If you are looking for a sporty pair of sunglasses, you probably want to go with a wrap frame that fits snugly around your face. This will usually protect you from a lot of the sunlight coming in from above, as well as from the sides. If they fit close to your cheeks, they will also protect against light bouncing off the pavement or water.
If you’re looking for a chic pair of glasses for around town, aviator shapes are still in. Most of these are metal frames, and some come with gradient (darker on the top, lighter on the bottom) lenses. These are also sometimes called driving lenses, because the lighter bottom part of the lens allows you to see your dashboard more easily. Some of the newer models (Maui Jim, for example) even have a polarized gradient lens, so you get the best of both worlds!
Get out there, look stylish, and have a great summer!
