First, you should know a little bit about Theo. They are based in Belgium, and were created in 1989 by Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet. Theo is actually an anagram of Patrick’s last name. Theo started small, but didn’t stay that way. They caught the attention of opticians, and people searching for frames more out of the ordinary. In 1994, Theo started the Eyewitness collection, which continues in their avant-garde tradition. In 2001, Theo brought out their first sunglass line. In 2004, Theo partnered with Christoph Broich to bring a new line of fashion sunglasses to the market.
What makes Theo unique? Theo frames are handmade, using titanium, monel, and beautiful acetate. The vision of Theo’s designers is what really puts it head and shoulders above, however. Theo eyewear may look a bit odd when sitting in the showcase, but the frames turn into something amazing when you put them on your face. They’re really made to be worn. They still have some crazy frames, but most of them are very wearable. And, they usually come in many different colors; to suit every style.
The Eyewitness frames are all limited edition, and the quirky thing about them is they are all at least a little bit asymmetrical. They are made to fit the asymmetry of our faces, so everything meshes when put together.
Theo Frames are truly one of a kind, and need to be seen to be appreciated. If you would like to try them, or have questions, please contact us.
